Dr Oluwaseun Akinbande

Dr Oluwaseun Akinbande is a seasoned family physician with clinical experience spanning over a decade. His passion and dedication towards comprehensive and holistic care in a friendly and compassionate environment led him to family medicine. His approach to care is professional, and thorough with good listening and communication skills.

His clinical skills parallels his professionalism in delivery of evidence based medical care and he has rotations through medical specialty essential for Family medicine practice during his postgraduate training.

He completed his undergraduate medical education at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo college of health sciences, Olabisi Onabanjo University Nigeria in 2012.

In Nigeria, Dr Akinbande worked as a family physician in a multi-specialty medical centre and he participated in delivery of excellent medical care for patients of all age groups and diverse sociocultural background

After few years of clinical practice and managerial roles in his home country, he relocated to England and worked at South Tyneside NHS hospital as a trust doctor in emergency room. He enrolled in the Durham and Tees Valley Family medicine residency program in September 2018 and completed the training in September 2021.He rotated through specialty such as geriatrics, neurology  and stroke rehabilitation, psychiatry, pediatrics and family medicine where he spent 20 months. Dr Akinbande obtained membership of the royal college of general practitioners (MRCGP) in 2021.

Since then, He has been practising independently as a General Practitioner in the Northeast of England

He is a Licentiate of the medical council of Canada(LMCC), registered with college of physician and surgeons of British Columbia(CPSBC) and certified by the college of family physician of Canada(CCFP)

Outside of work, Dr Akinbande enjoys staying active, reading and spending time with family and friends.
