Dr Adrian Hughes

Dr. Hughes was born in Cold Lake, Alberta, and raised in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. He completed his undergraduate studies at Acadia University before graduating from Dalhousie Medical School in 1993. In 1993, he completed his internship at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Following his internship, Dr. Hughes served as a Medical Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for three years. During this time, he was deployed with UNPROFOR (United Nations Protection Force) in the former Yugoslavia from January to August 1994. In February 1995, he participated in an Arctic sovereignty expedition across the Canadian Arctic and later completed the Canadian Armed Forces Basic Parachutist Course in October 1995.

After completing his military service, Dr. Hughes relocated to Kelowna, British Columbia, where he co-founded Lakeshore Medical Centre with his partners. He is married and the proud father of four children.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hughes enjoys an active lifestyle and takes full advantage of the Okanagan’s outdoor opportunities. Whether playing hockey or mountain biking, he values spending time with family and enjoying all that the region has to offer.
